I have had my 993 for 3 Years and it needs nothing. I searched over a year for this specific one.
In total I have had 13 Air cooled Porsches and as many have argued, this is the best of the air cooled cars.
I have recently purchased a 997.2 GT3 and I finally decided to let this car go.
I am in the process of restoring my 1968 911 and I need the funds from the 993 to finish it.
I purchased this car 3yrs ago.
I have put over 25K into it in the 3 years of my ownership to get it where I wanted it.
I have a Two inch Binder full of receipts for all the parts and labor. If you are looking for a stock car,
this is not the one for you. If you want something that looks special and handles and sounds great then keep reading.
Being in California I wanted a 1995 car which are OBD1 and a result has less smog equipment compared to the later 1996-1998 993's.
The OBD-I diagnostic systems lacks the check engine light and it monitors fewer engine functions than the OBD-II system which was
introduced in MY1996. 993’s have proven to be very reliable, they are known as the “least –towed 911 ever”. One of the few but
significant problems are clogged secondary air injection ports which can lead to a very expensive top-end rebuild. If you have a
1996-1998 to fix that check engine light /smog problem can be upwards of 7k+ or a top end rebuild. The 1995 993 does does not have
the seconday air injection problelm.
1995 993 C4S Polar Silver with Chestnut/Black Interior and a 3.6L & 6spd. 107k miles meticulously maintained. Most people on this forum will know Porsche
did not make a 1995 C4S. This car began life as a narrow body C4 that had was converted to a C4S using all Factory Porsche
OEM Parts which totaled over 15K in parts alone.
I can provide Pictures via email to interested buyers. It took me months of searching for the various OEM parts. Most of the parts
were sourced from Sunset Porsche in Oregon. To properly do the C4S conversion I also added Factory Big Red Brakes and new
Rotors and Steel Braided Lines. The C4S/Turbo OEM Decklid was $2500, The Turbo Front Bumper and Turbo S OEM factory
Lip was another $2500 not including the OEM Quarter Panels and Rocker and Plastics. I spent another $3000 on misc.
trim and plastic pieces, seals and hardware and Fender liners. Nothing went untouched. I even installed new headlights
Lens ($300) from Porsche so that the whole car looked brand new. Painted the rear bumperetts body color and bought plugs for the headlight nozzles.
The car had a complete repaint and was completely taken apart including removing the glass and it was repainted its factory color Polar Silver.
The Conversion + Paint and OEM Parts was around $16000. Also had 3M Clear Bra installed on the Hood, Front Fenders, Lip and Mirrors. $400
$24,000 + in performance and other improvements See the list of the Upgrades:
Custom Fabspeed RSR Full exhaust (had to have 200 Cell Sport Cats added & GT3 TIPS: $4200
BCM AIR filter: $65

Nice build however your quote has me wondering. I was under the impression all these 3.6 engines have the potential for the secondary air injection problem, ie. clogged ports and increased oil consumption due to soft factory valve guides. I thought the only difference was that the MY95 didn't have the CEL light which in CA and possibly other states effected the ability to pass emissions.
