Default Trailer Jack Recs?

Fellow Haulers,

What is a tire jack that you would recommend? Which one would you avoid? If

you were in the market for a new Jack, would you go power, manual, or swing up?

Thank you in advance.

Clarification: this would be for a Trailex aluminum open trailer hauling a spec Miata.

Swing up all the way. No need for power on the open trailex, it would be more hassle than it's worth to mount a battery, and then keep it charged all the time.

Thanks! Never tried a power jack, but my old one was a manual crank. I think I'll swing up will just save time.

The trailer is light, a breeze for me to crank up. I'm kinda old skool. Lo-tech/analog feels right.

Swing up! Harbor freight. So cheap you can buy a new one every week. Mine is two years and going strong.

Just upgrade my trailex with this: Fulton F2 Like the dual wheels for rolling trailer around with riding lawnmower at home, swings up out of the way when towing. 10-min mod.

This looks a lot like my old one Kurt.
Is it welded on?

And, how does one remove a welded on jack anyway?

It's unlikely to be welded on on a trailex. See the 4 bolts in the corners? Should take less than 20 minutes to remove and bolt the new one in.

This could be an entry into that "I know this because I drive a race car" thread -- getting excited over a trailer jack.

That said, my latest trailer upgrade was awesome - an $8 foot for my trailer jack so I don't have to fart around with the block of wood I had been using.

Yep! Folks get this look on their faces when they hear that kinda stuff.

Overheard at family reunion, w/ sympathy directed toward my beloved spouse :

"Ohhhhh poor thing... Really gone off the deep end, no?
