Roof Nets
Does anyone know of a manufacturer who has designed a custom roof net for the Boxster per the new rules?

Great question! It would eliminate the hassel of dealing with arm restraints.
A quick search didn't yield much but here is some info I found and links to possible sources for the nets.

I wonder if using metal hose clamps to secure the net pictured in the RennList thread would meet the spirit of the new rule.

Thanks Brian. My quick search didn't yield much either so I took the lazy way out. It would be very nice to ditch the arm restraints.

I've looked too, the challenge will be finding someone who can certify the thing, but if they can make a generic SPB pattern perhaps it will be worth their while.
edit: I've contacted Teamtech to see if they will make one for us.

I contacted them too. I could be wrong but I don't read the rule to say that the net needs to be certified, just that it be "appropriately" constructed of certified materials by someone who knows what they are doing.
The arm restraint requirement does not apply to Boxsters equipped with the allowed aftermarket plastic top as long as a custom fabricated roof net, filling the halo area of the roll cage, is installed. Custom fabrication means that a template of the actual roll cage halo area has been sent to a manufacturer of SFI or FI A approved webbing goods, and that the product is appropriately constructed and attached to the halo bars on all four sides with webbing and metal buckles. The use of plastic tie raps, plastic straps or elastic cords is not allowed.

Do you guys plan on having loops on all 4 sides, or just 2 sides like a window net? I see they need to be attached on all 4 sides, but I'm not sure loops would be necessary on the short sides.

I assume that they will but I'd also like to see a loop in the corner of the front to connect to the diagonal bar.

I have a source to have them made. They will be between $250 and $300. Let me know if you want one. Need to make a template of the roof cage to have them built for your car.

We used two large window nets and rivetted them together. A stainless steel cable around the perimeter and clamped to the cage halo. Worked for chump car skruts.

Yes, I've had a handful made at Teamtech for our Boxster Spec builds (including the one in the photo above). They come with the sewn in straps(14), as pictured. The size is 24" x 36" and fits our cages well, which have the windshield bar stitched to the windshield frame. I retail them at $215, but I am currently out of stock. I can get a half dozen on order if you guys would like, and they should be ready in a couple of weeks for shipping.
They do NOT come with a certification tag like the standard window nets but are of course made with the same material. They have passed through POC/PCA/NASA tech several times.
I also have one used net available in the same size with open ends, like a standard window net that you could use with steel cable. I had that one installed on my car before we went to the sewn in straps. I'll sell that one for $75 if anyone wants to go that route instead. It's just more a pain to install and uninstall when needed.
