Default Body shop east of downtown TO?

I had a kind gentleman in a massive Dodge Ram truck try and push me through an intersection last week. The bump stops took the vast majority of the impact although there are 2 small marks through the clear on the rear bumper itself. So will likely require replacement of the bumperettes and the underlying guards as well as a rear bumper respray. Luckily does not appear to have affected anything near the engine although a qualified shop will have to have a look

It will be covered by the other guys insurance as an at fault accident for him. I have read previous threads on some body shop recommendations which include 427 Auto and Luxury Auto Body etc. It seems all recommendations are in the west end of TO. Are there any "Porsche approved" shops in the east end or near the beaches that come recommended? A friend mentioned Michael and Michael on Eastern but I don't know anything about them

Thanks

I wouldn't worry about location these days as it is hard enough to get good honest paint and bodywork. Be sure to go Porsche certified. I hope it is as minor as you expect.

Isn't there only one "porsche certified" body shop in Toronto? I don't even think Dealer's Choice is porsche certified and they repair a lot of Downtown Porsche's cars.

You should call Mike at Dealers Choice and tell him Cameron sent you. They did an incredible job on my 991.

Otherwise 427, Pfaff or others.

True Danny, just seeing if there were other options. And yes, it looks minor and here's hoping it is!

Is 427 the certified shop? For what I hopefully only need done, it would prob not be necessary.

I was wondering who did Downtown P's cars.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure they are Porsche certified.
A few years ago at a PCA social at The Musket the owner of 427 Collision and Jeff Pabst of Pfaff collision were the guests. They both explained the certification process.
427 does host the spring open house and frequently advertises in the club newsletter.

+1 for Dealers Choise and 427. Not quick but the work was perfect. Don't be surprised when there is more work than meets the eye.

427 and Pfaff are both Porsche certified. Unfortunately, accidents are like icebergs. Most of the damage is below the surface.

I use Paragon at dvp and eglinton to do all my work. 3 p-cars there right now. There's a reputable p-car shop around the corner that sends all their work to them.

Thanks. I am not surprised with anything with these cars. Maybe there is more then meets the eye but it looks minor and we'll find out when they take the bumper off

Since I am not on the hook for the cost I think I will go to 427. Am just waiting for the insurance appraiser to come and see me

Cheers

Better hurry or there goes Hershey. Some of these guys are painfully slow.

I wont take it in before Hershey unless they can gtee delivery before April 20th. If they cant then it will go in after that. Dropping by tomorrow so we'll see what they say

TD Ins tells me that Enterprise has a Porsche that I might get as the rental car but I doubt they would be too happy about me taking that to Hershey

I feel your pain as a recent rear bumper damage victim. I had Pfaff do mine, as expected it looks perfect. I had them, 427 and Dealer's Choice all quote based on the suggestions from the forum. I would've been comfortable with any of them, and they're all Porsche certified. They were all booking a month ahead in January and February.

427 is quiet right now. I heard this from a very reliable source.
