Once the fuel enters the engine bay does it go to these two devices at the back of the engine and then to what i thought was a FPR at the front? Then back to the tank?
I installed a new, what i thought was a FPR, in the front of the engine and now I'm not getting any fuel to the rails.

Tghe fuel enters the engine bay via hard piping until it crosses over to the engine just behind the passenger side cam. From there it routes to the front of the engine and into the front damper at the base. The fuel flows out of the two side connections- one direct into the driver side rail and the other via the front crossover hose into the passenger side rail.
At the back of the rail on the drivers side the flow goes into the rear damper- in one side out the other and over to the pressure controller- on the passenger side rail at the rear it leads to the other side of the pressure controller and excess pressure is bled via the port on the base back to the tank.
Important that you clearly differentiate between the pressure controller and the front damper that lok very similar but work comnpletely differently.

What Fred said.
Regulator (back - passenger side) and front damper look the same but are different parts.
Different part #.
The car won't start with the regulator in front and the damper in the back.
I tried that once and it didn't work.

A common enough mistake. As a general statement, if the diaphragm on one of the three items goes the other two will not be far behind so I tend to buy them as a set-

Looks like the dampers are different (front Vs rear) Pelican only lists the one at the front. Anyone know if the one at the rear drivers side is a different part number?

Had you spoken with Roger or anyone who knows about 928s you would not have had your problem. I doubt that anyone at Pelican even owns ONE 928 plus since they inventory virtually nothing, most have never seen a 928 fuel regulator....

For the record, I wanted a FPR...I ordered a FPR...I installed it in the wrong place. I'm only interested in dampers now because I'm not going to reinstall a part that's nearly 30 years old and I'm going to replace them both.

What was the original problem you are attempting to address?
(it's never a bad thing to replace the FPR & FPD's - can only help).
But just curious what led you to conclude you need a new FPR.

Installed an 044 pump. The car would run for around a minute and then would lose fuel pressure and stall. Restart and do the same. I'm thinking the new 044 is overwhelming the nearly 30 year old diaphragms in the fuel system
