Default IT HAPPENED AGAIN...

I was leaving work after a long 12 hour shift and just as I was pulling out of my parking lot, no drive, no reverse. I waited 2 plus hours in the dark at my store in a dangerous neighborhood for my AAA tow. I'm sure many of you remember the epic Dennis thread. At least this time it's in the hands of a trusted Porsche savant. Here's to hoping it is the same problem as last one and easily repaired.

KK, man we've missed you! Just talking about you the other day. Oh my goodness! Not again!!!!!!

Is this a nightmare or what? Keep us posted throughout the process. Maybe I should bring my manual tranny Cabriolet up to Greensboro to meet your auto tranny Cabriolet?... maybe it could rub a little reliability on yours? ha! j/k

So not only does Kalash steal transmissions, he steals bad transmissions to pawn off on hapless victims? What a guy!

Bummer man, that sucks. Hopefully it won't be the ordeal it was last time! Either you're beating the hell out of this thing like no Tip owner before you, or there is something else going on beyond the transmission. Make sure someone that knows the 996 looks at it this time and don't rush it.

Good luck.

Yowza!!!! It must be a continuation of the same problem from before. Zero chance you got two bad trannies.

(Although I hear that Slaker has had several bad trannies.)

Good luck non-KrazyK. Hoping it's a quick fix & you're back on the road.

The "I can't even..." is very appropriate here.

And there's always that awkward pause when you find out and have to ask yourself, if I don't stop does this really make me gay?

Haha thanks guys. I'm fairly positive it's something with the shift cable again. Maybe closer to the transmission this time rather than directly at the shifter. While waiting 2 hours for the tow my girlfriend brought me some of my tools and I started ripping up the console to see if the same bracket had busted again. It didn't appear to be but it definitely feels exactly the same as last time. I drive the car hard but that shouldn't have any bearing on the stupid shifter cable. I think the think might have been put in too tight and just broke over time or something.

Just terrible timing. My Mustang got damaged on the interstate a week or so ago from debris on the road, it also needs new tires, I can barely afford my insurance for the two cars lately and then this. Sigh.

Keep it all in prospective my friend. You have a good job... pharmacist right? You own two very nice sports cars and have a nice lady in your life. Be thankful. There are far more worse things in life that can drain the $$ accounts.

Don't worry, I'm well aware I'm not by any means hard off. Just frustrated with it.
