Default Will steel wool clean up these pipes?

Or if anyone has any advice, what will? This is post wash and some serious microfiber rubbing with polish.

Thanks.

Polish and 0000 will do it. If you have a soda blaster it will do a better job.

I would go for Autosol if it's available in US

Why steel wool? You will only create scratches

Autosol both dissolves dirt and gives a very nice shine.

Steel wool works great for me with polish. Nothing else will get that crap off as well. Mine were never really bright chrome anyways and the fine steel wool leaves a brushed aluminum look

Scotchbrite pad- get a large one, wrap it around and buff it like a shoeshine guy.

I've had great results with California Custom Purple metal polish with steel wool on my base 997.1 C2 tips.
Previously they were (at best when clean) a satin stainless finish - now they shine.

I would use this polish applied with a microfiber cloth. It is very effective and won't scratch the finish.

I use the blue Scotch dishwashing pad and all purpose cleaner form Adam's Polishes but I'm sure any brand cleaner would work. It doesn't get all the carbon/soot off but about 80%.

I use Sharkhide polish with a Mother's foam cone on my pneumatic drill for all my stainless polishing. I also use the Sharkhide metal protector on raw metal pieces to keep them looking like new, but not on hot exhaust parts. Look what it did to these used secondary cat bypass pipes for my Cayenne in about 20 minutes.

Before

One done

Both completed

Holy smokes. That's awesome. Next order... Mother's cone.

Though the cone is an elbow grease saver, I think the brand of polish is at least as important. I've tried autosol, Mother's, and a few others and none yield as good or as fast a result as this Sharkhide brand.

Those exhaust tips are brushed stainless. The OE finish is essentially tiny scratches all over the surface.

000 steel wool will work just fine, will not harm the stainless and will leave the finish just as it was from the factory.
