Interior Temperature Bezel Repair?
Afternoon folks!
I'm at the point where I'm doing some minor cosmetic fixes on my '86 and one thing I need to do is replace/repair the interior temp sensor bezel on the upper part of the center console. For some reason the edges are broken instead of being nice and round
I can never find this part for sale, although I do see some covers as part of dress-up kits.
I'm not interested in a dress-up kit per-se, so I'm curious if anyone has encountered this problem and how hard is it to find the part and replace it?

99% of the 928s our there have the edges cracked off. The entire sensor needs to be replaced and for that, you need to remove the centre console.

^^ and the part is very expensive, which is why folks replace the cap. I used the cap and was very impressed with the fit, finish and texture. You really can't tell it's a cover.

Ok that's what I needed to know. I've only seen the cap as part of a kit in like chrome or silver. Does someone sell a black cap, or can I get the cap separately and paint it?
Thanks as always!

Very kind! I think pulling the center console is not high on my list right now But I'm sure an inexpensive cover would be useful!

Several strips of adhesive. 3 years and looking perfect on my 87.
