This Cup Car completed a full season of racing in the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama, sanctioned by IMSA and is in compliance with FIA Homologation Regulations (NOT STREET LEGAL). The Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge USA by Yokohama is one of Porsche’s 20 single-make Cup Challenge series in the world. The series produces intense, exciting competition for semi-professional and aspiring professional drivers in the worlds’ most produced and iconic race car, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Car.

With aspiring young talent competing head-to-head with mature veterans, GT3 Cup Challenge USA competes in support of top North American series, including the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, at the most prestigious venues in North America, such as Sebring International Raceway, Watkins Glen International, Road America and Circuit of the Americas.

Angel did drive the No.05 JDX Racing/Hertz Porsche in 2015 and did dominate the field as he entered the season late at Watkins Glen. The photos above were provided by the team, this is the same livery of the MY16 car that is available for sale.

Benitez ran in 2015 GT3 Cup Challenge starting rnds 5/6 at WG ,out of 16 rnds in the season, with the JDX 05 car ... what happened to the 2015 GT3 Cup he drove, if this is not the car?

The car for sale was driven by Ricardo Perez de Lara in 2016. Benitez Jr. did drive the #05 MY 2015 car in the 15 season. Angel ran in 12 regularly scheduled rounds, claiming a podium finish in 11 of those starts, including 5 race wins. The photos used for the this post are of the Benitez Jr. car, the car livery was unchanged for 2016.
