Radar Detector installation recommendations?
Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop in Vancouver to install a built in radar detector (eg: Passport 8500)? In the past, I have used Audiolines, but they seem to have disappeared.
Thanks.

I just had the 9500ci installed in my car at Ralph's Radio.
Pro install. Takes the whole day about 8 hours

I just moved to Vancouver from Toronto and brought my Beltronics STi with me (undetectable by detector detectors since RDs are illegal in ON).
Im told that detectors are not useful here because the police exclusively use laser.
Correct? Im using it now....

Not correct, Police do still use radar in certain places. The laser shifting concept with the 9500 is what most people do to be safe. I use a Passport portable and get lots of radar hits with it. Again, check with James at Scan Automotive in North Vancouver as he's up on this stuff and done many installs.

Gentlemen....I live in So. Calif..so can anyone help me choose the best combo..not the most expensive but the best value for my car? I see all kinds of options...but not liking some, while curious about others..but what really is needed in our area?
Currently looking at ALP for laser...but in combo with what? The Bel Sti is expensive and if that is the only good option, Ill considrer..but maybe not the only best options for combo.
thanks
