road trip Eastern Canada
Hi all,
This weekend my girlfriend and I are leaving on a road trip from Montreal to NB, NS, PEI, Gaspesie and back. I want to that it in my 997.2. Is this a good idea? any of you has done it? things I should be aware of?
Thanks for your input,
Andrei

Great Idea, for sure.
You're from Montréal and you're worried about Easter Canada roads?!?
Don't be, they are very good, and where you're going is beautiful.

CAUTION!
I suggest great caution as you approach Fredericton, NB.
There are often hoards of flying lobster that can obliterate the proper turn in point on secondary roads.
As long as you agree with your partner, you will have a wonderful time!

The best part is that the answer is probably "nothing"
Joe, the partner is a road-trip trooper so we should be good. On the other hand, those NB flying lobsters sound menacing...

Since radar detectors are illegal and not highly effective in many cases, I have started using thr "Waze" app on my phone. This crowd sourced app is GPS and warns you in real time about road hazards, road closures and, best of all, police and speed camera warnings input by the thousands of others who use the app. I've been using it for over a year now and it has saved my skin more than a few times! You use it like Google maps ( which is probably the map engine it uses).

In NB the likely hood of a cop having a radar trap is slim... 2 summers ago I pulled into a gas station in Woodstock NB and a cop walked up to me, saw my car and said quietly "Nice car... just to let you know its clear for the next 100km north and south" 110kph limit most of the way, you can cruise 130-140kph... Just not through Gagetown.
