Default Toyo R compounds - Canadian sources?

I need to replace a set of R888's that are done. I'm thinking of RA1's instead but that is a whole other topic. Are most of you Canucks just ordering thru Tirerack or is there a competitive Canadian supplier with decent stock? My rears are 245/45/16 which are getting hard to come by.

I've also heard good things about the Nitto NT-01. Any recommended sources for them?

Thanks - good thread - not sure how I missed that! 1010Tires shows the RA1 P245/45/16 as call for availability - doesn't sound promising to get them quickly. TireRack shows limited stock. Prices appear to be close. TireRack does have the advantage of offering heat cycling and shaving for those who want it. Discount Tire has the Nitto but they don't ship Nitto to Canada.

I got my RA1 from Talon Tires but that was 3 years ago. Give them a call.

The Nitto NT-01 is the perfromance bargain of the lot. By far. I hear they are sticky right down to the cords.

I would not let border issues get in the way, just drop ship to Champlain NY or similar. No brainer. I bought a set in 17's for less than $700 shipped.

Good luck.

Best,

Matt

Looks like the only 16" size in the Nitto is 245/50/16 so they won't work for me...
