Alain,
Does this mean we will all have to get 944 spec cars and join you now ???
Sure sounds like a lot of fun and you don't have to stick your arm out the window and
point anymore ... lol
Cheers

On the other hand, the DE experience is still absolutely valuable...seat time, seat time...+ one gets to learn from others' experiences with the instructors, as opposed to learning from only self-experience, the hard way. Lots of valuable DE-acquired tips and lessons I applied this week-end, which kept us all safe. And I am sure there is more... see you at the Tremblant DE in July. Hemmmm sausages.

Congratulations Alain! It was great racing with you (I was in the blue 911sc, parked just up from you). It is amazing how much there is to learn about racing (including pit stops - I messed mine up big time, costing me a probable podium spot!).
You learned Mosport quickly. It is a great track.

I lost track of the topic of the thread. Hair in the right places, blow-dries, or a first day at the races!
Here it is....as mentioned above, my first race, in my new-to-me car, on a new track. (Mosport / CT Motorsport...) Code for: Reasons for not finishing first...
In Summary: What an experience! What a track! And what great people in the 944 Challenge-Canada team..... I drove back home this afternoon on the 401, with a large grin stuck on my face.
First day - Friday: DISCOVER
Thoughts coming to mind:
Lap time last session: 1:51
Tires: heat-cycled out Hoosiers R6 that came with the car.
Saturday: 1 practice, 1 qualifying session, 2 sprint races in the afternoon. UNDERSTAND
Today, Sunday: Enduro fo 90 minutes with a 5 min mandatory stop in the hot pits. EXHILARATED
Thanks to all the racers who took care of this Rookie on the track. To We Tune for the car prep. To the PCA and UCR for a well organized event. And a special thanks to the very welcoming and a great bunch of good people in the 944 Challenge group. I was impressed by the solidarity and the generosity of each. Out of all the discoveries this week-end, no doubt that the people I met will be one of the lasting ones.
Posting a vid soon.

In Summary: What an experience! What a track! And what great people in the 944 Challenge-Canada team..... I drove back home this afternoon on the 401, with a large grin stuck on my face.
First day - Friday: DISCOVER
Thoughts coming to mind:
- I am practicing vision all-right! Mostly in my rear-view mirror. Holly spoon, they are coming at me from everywhere
- Discover the track: Is the next turn right or left? Oh my!! Every turn is blind on this track.
- Discover the gears: What gear in what turn...
- Rain: Discover where the wiper switch is, while on track...OK..found it... only to remember that the wiper arms are still in the box of parts that came with the car.
Lap time last session: 1:51
Tires: heat-cycled out Hoosiers R6 that came with the car.
Saturday: 1 practice, 1 qualifying session, 2 sprint races in the afternoon. UNDERSTAND
- Race 1: Holly Renn! I am in a warm-up lap...Look at that, the grid is forming...Woohooo here’s the starting signal... noise galore from straight pipes. Can’t hear my own engine. Oh....I am doing my first pass without point-by !!
- Note to self. Arrive at the staging earlier or else... start at the back (which was not too far from where I was supposed to be anyway...)
- Note to self: Have to deprogram the DE mind-set. If the car ahead is slower, don’t slow down!!! Go get it!! Argh!
- Man!! 30 minutes race and I am spent...how will I last the 90 min enduro tomorrow?
- Lap time: best lap dropped at 1:46. (But the median of the group is now around 1:43)
- Tires: Gummy soft A6 Hoosiers. Sticky, but not much left on them. (Also came with the car)
Today, Sunday: Enduro fo 90 minutes with a 5 min mandatory stop in the hot pits. EXHILARATED
- Going in: I've never been on a track for 90 min straight! Will the car hold? Will my old, heat cycled-out tires hold? And most importantly, will I hold?
- Coming out: Oh Yessss! That was by far my most exhilarating track time I have ever experienced. 47 cars on the grid. All categories combined, including Cup cars lapping at 1:25 ! Can we do it again? Now?
- Note to self: The 5min mandatory break is 5 min, not 8! Stay in the car!! Don’t go out for a stretch. Rookie mistake. Could have done two extra laps for a better position. Nevertheless, I did not finish last!!

If it was you, you showed great skills for a rookie. Congrats ! I may have some footage of you during the Enduro. I will work on editing something as soon as I can. I have to leave for another racing weekend tomorrow... In the meantime, here is the 2nd Sprint race of the Red group:
