Moving home after 10 yrs in US
Just found this forum
lived in US for 10 years but moving home later this year to Cambridge/Suffolk border area
bringing my 997.2 C2S with me
now that I've found this uk forum, here's some questions I have:
1) what the best UK Porsche club - assume PCGB?
2) I'm a Porsche Club of America track instructor in US and plan to do some track days when get back to the UK (probably in a caterham). Before I left 10 years ago, Book-a-Track were just taking off ----- who would you recommend nowadays for porsche / non-porsche track days? How much we looking' at nowadays? any discounts for instructors?
3) Any specialist porsche insurance companies you would recommend / stay away from?
4) Is window tinting allowed in UK?
5) Im planning on using shipmycar.co.uk to transport porsche, tow vehicle and trailer back to use and then get road legs/mot etc ---- any body used these guys?

Hi Steve , i can answer some of these Qs
PCGB is fine and organizes good track days all over the country , average cost around
£200 , open pit lane . I would imagine new instructors desirable .
Javelin are a good non Porsche organizer with a full calender . Also Circuit Days
Porsche Centre Cambridge is one of the better OPCs and has a great relationship with the club , special events & servicing discounts etc
I use Classicline insurance for old and modern and they include trackday cover

Legally in the UK you can only tint the rear 3 windows, basically anything behind the B pillar rewards is legal. Any tint on the front door glass is illegal and could void your insurance!

I'm interested as well. I'm going to be moving over to Cambridge for an ex-pat assignment and would love to hear how things went. I'm considering bringing my Cayman primarily for track use but also some light commuting. It would be great to pick your brain on the process.
