Default Time for a service

Just had my 993 Targa serviced at Porsche centre Exeter. They did a fine job and their service advisor Tim was great to deal with. As you would expect a service appointment is never just about the cost of a service and so 1000 pounds became 3500 pounds of essential maintenance. Everything was done as promised and I will definitely be taking my car back to them for all future maintenance.
Why?
One repair carried out by Porsche centre Exeter was massively cheaper than an independent. Door check strap repair quoted by independent was 1500 pounds plus Vat. Porsche centre Exeter 199 pounds including VAT. Yes , really 199 pounds. The repair is neat and sorted.
I think that sometimes the labour costs of main dealers sound frightening compared to independents. However much less labour time is incurred with the main dealer as they get to the hub of the problem much faster and save so much money on fault identification. Often it costs much more to find the fault than to actually repair it.
Sooooo, thanks Tim and Porsche Centre Exeter for a great job!
