Default PCGB Isle of Man Tour 2001

I was wondering if anybody has a copy of the Porsche Club Great Britain Tour 2001 of the Isle of Man that they may willing to let me borrow/hire or buy?
Very much appreciated and thanks if you can help.

Dave,

Assume you mean the video? Try phoning the Club shop - if no use send me a private Email and I will see what I can find.

If I thought I was going to get any benefit from joining the club Mel I would join today. I was a member for two years and got very little out of it.
If it means joining just to get the video I guess I wont be seeing it.
I just thought that by posting here somebody may be able to help.
I'm not after charity and I'm quite willing to pay for any costs involved.
Cheers

Dave -the Club is what YOU put in to it. I've been a member for ten years now. No complaints.

I'm sure soemone will help with the video.

Yes I offered to buy it for Dave but the Club doesn't list it for sale any longer. I think it is plain wrong for you other Club members not to help out for several reasons:

1. Helping a fellow Porsche owner realise the value of membership
2. Bringing in revenue for the Club by facilitating a sale to a non-member
3. Proliferating an elitist attitude

I think you proved to Dave that membership isn't worth it - nice job.

Christer,

I suggested to Dave that he contact Club shop but that if this was unsuccessful to send me a private message - I have received no such message, I have access to many out of production Club items and may have been able to help.

However, and lets be clear about this, to be eligable for Club benefits it is only fair that people join the Club otherwise why bother to have the Club in the first place. The members pay a subscription every year which entitles them to certain priviliges which effectively they pay for - why should non members benefit? Knowing what others have said in the past about "the Club does nothing for me, or doesn't do what I want it too" lets cut that one off at the pass - if you are a member and don't like the way it is run then put up or shut up - put yourself forward for the Board to change things. Ultimately you don't have to be a member but 16,000 do - which brings me full circle - why should Dave, who has decided not to be a member, receive preferential treatment?

Of course if the video has sold out then many people out there have a copy but it seems no-one is rushing forward help, wonder why?

OK Guys, lets put a stop to this now as it is certainly NOT going the way I thought it would. If you have a copy of the video well you enjoy it as I no longer am interested in it.

PJC, I did send you a private message as requested and heard nothing back.

To re-iterate. If I thought I was going to get value for money from PCGB I would join. I can afford to do it so its not a money thing. Its value for money thing. I was a member and weighed up with what I put in and what I got out it did not amount to the fifty quid or whatever it was. Maybe its different for the 16,000 or so members. Great. It was not like that for me.

(typed as eloquently as possible given the current circumstances )

Sigh.......PJC....I am a member because it benefits me personally to be one, emotionally and financially. I don't know if you hold a position within the Club of note, but IMHO your attitiude is wrong. If we can promote the Club by showing that benefits can be had by joining, or even if it comes down to selling a Club supplied video to a non-member thereby contributing to the profits of the Club then I don't see the harm in that. On the subject of no one else coming forward to help Dave with his request, how does that prove anything? I should think that anyone who has read more than a handful of your posts have been scared off by now and are not reading this.

I guess you will justify your unwillingness to help another human being out in any way you can. 'If no one else does either then I am right.' What twaddle. Eloquent? Hah! Thats a matter of opinion.

Jeez, how to win freinds and influence people c/o PCGB.

Funny how Dave finds it worthwhile paying to join Rennlist but finds PCGB not worth the £50 or whatever ( none of which appears to be spent on PR). I just can't imagine a Rennlist member refusing to help a non member. Perhaps some of the registered users on this thread ought to think about that.

Actually (and going back to the original reason for this thread!),

the video sounds interesting (and yes, I am a member of both PCGB and Rennlist!!) - I'll take a look over at the club shop to see if its available as I hope to get to the IoM next year for a bit of a 'drive', the video should give a good feel for the place, no?
