Default 993 Performance Chip

Hi,

I've booked in (again as I missed my last appt ) at JZ to get the car serviced and also for their performance chip to be installed.

Anyone got any results or first hand experience of this and other performance chips available for the 993? I'd like to hear of your experiences, good or bad

Surj

Afraid I haven't but would be really interested to hear what you think once the work is done.

All the best.

Tim - have decided against it (the chip, not the servicing with JZ!!)

May look at it later in the year when my insurance is about up for renewal (!!!)

Hi Surj,

I'd be interested to hear what you think as well. My understanding is that they write the chip to suit the car in order to get the best result.

Cheers,

David

A friend of mine with a 964 had one but didn't notice much difference. Like any modification, get a before and after dyno done to make sure you are getting what you pay for. (Preferably at a neutral dyno...).

i had a 964 C2 92, and had installed a RUF Chip....

car felt :
revier...
more alive...
was definetelly faster.....
(car was measured from an automotive mag...pre- and after- chip)
but what tranformed the car was that small increase in torque throughout the whole torque curve....

from my point of view.....try it...if you do not like it ...then go back....(once you will be able to put back your original porsche chip)

having in mind now the insurance premium...going up i did reallised that norwich union had covered me at the same premium....NO INCREASE...

p.s. ussually chips go together with air-filter upgrades......
