Potential for a road course here in central FL
Surprised not to see any discussion here about a potential new road course right here in central Florida. http://cfroadcourse.com/default.aspx
I know several people who have taken the time to visit the site and talk with the managers of the course. The purpose of this venture is to try to get the owner of the property, to agree that a road course in Central Florida would be financially feasible. If the owner of the business can convince him of this, then the property owner will open up another 500 acres to build a REAL road course (the current course area would become the paddock).
General consensus right now is that the temporary course while fun, is far from ideal and really not very safe overall due to the multiple light poles and lack of run-off area.
The clincher is the extremely small window of time the property owner has given those managing this track project to prove sufficient interest... 6 months. That is going to be a real challenge. Tell all your track junkie friends about this venture and keep the momentum up to show the interest here in central FL for this idea.
