I usually link photos from my smugmug account. I'd get url for a photo then click the insert image button which pop up a small window would let me paste the link and generate the appropriate <img>url</img> . Now when I get large window and it seems to want to upload the actual image not just the hotlink. It actually never seems to complete even that upload.
Note that the hotlinks from before still work fine.
Using Chrome browser btw

In that picture pop-up window there is an area at the bottom to add a picture URL.

Hi Randy,
I used that section with this URL (ctrl v)

It starts counting and at 10% it throws an error stating the URL is invalid. I click ok and it starts showing a percentage upload count, slowly gets to 99% then freezes. I have to cancel to get things working.

I've checked the URL by pasting into the browser address bar and it works. Perhaps the length is too long or ???

With the "old" interface this process worked fine.

BTW I just tried using the same link to load the photo into an album and got the same invalid URL error.

The url must end in .jpeg or other image type suffix.

Which is odd because it used to work and the URL does work from a browsers address bar so it is valid. The URL's are .jpg. Just for giggles I tried using a file with .jpeg and it doesn't work either.

I uploaded the files to a IB/Rennlist gallery then linked them with the "new" image upload tool. Creates the same <img> url </img> code that the "old" interface use to do.

I wonder if IB is not playing nice with smugmug for some reason.

Oh well there is a work around and finding this kind of crap/solution has kept me employed for 25 years.
