Default Wheel weights in Europe ?

Some group is trying to ban lead wheel weights in the U.S, citing the fact that they are banned in europe. What do you guys use instead ?

One recourse the Ecology Center may resort to is to seek state or federal legislation similar to that in the European Union (EU) where lead wheel balancing weights have already been banned.

Zinc or ZAMA (an alloy of zinc, aluminum, and copper), and steel are emerging as the top two alternatives to lead weights

However the compound metals are very nearly not economically recoverable so the win on lead reductions is not as clear cut as might be expected. Coated lead weights were not bad and they were easily recoverable to be made into batteries or whatever.

Lead for wheel weights was finally outlawed in July this year.
