Default Driving Schools

Hi all,
our friends american are talking a lot about DE.

Does somebody have any reference and/or a good experience in Europe?

I'd like a school where to learn how to slip and control it. Rally driving style or...Top Gear car test driving style if you prefer!

Cheers

Hi smkn951,

fahrschule? Well my german is really basic, but if you know a nice one ...
I've seen Mathias Lauda on DSF television yesterday; He was testing a GT3 and controlled the oversteer the way I'd like to do it! In my dreams...may be, but I'd like to try!

Tschüss!

If all goes well I'll be doing a 2-hour handling course in November. It'll be one-on-one instruction, involving lots of drifting

I know the instructor from the race team he drives for; if it's any good I'll let you know

Cheers,

JW

Hi,
in Porsche Club Poland we have only Driving Schools.
We are typical Racing Club. We meet only for racing. Every meeting is based on school of driving. Usually we use own cars. One time we had test on new 996 Targa, 996 C4 and Cayenne S.
We are very young club - one year as Official Porsche Club.

smkn951
Drivind School = fahrschule, aber das ist keine Porsche Fahrschule als in Leipzig. Wir fahren in unsere Autos auf alte Flughafen oder auf eine Parkplatze.
Endschuldiege aber mein Deutsch ist nich so gut

If you want here you can see some pictures from our Driving Schools:

Hey JP...

The car control school I can recommend is one sponsored by PAG through the Porsche Travel Club. It's two days of class, track, skidpad, launch-pad into a set of water cannons, etc. run by professional instructors. When I attended, my Instructor was from PAG, and had been with the company for about 40 years. The stories he shared were simply incredible....

Anyway - he is the current link I found from PTC..

Best to you,

Thanks John,

interesting! I looked at the Driving experience menu but missed that one. This could be a good option.

You might want to read http://www.porsche964.nl/trips/trip01.php and http://www.porsche964.nl/trips/trip02.php; I wouldn't be surprised if that's more or less what you can expect from the official Porsche training.

Cheers,

JW

Well, it's the end of November, and I managed to remember to report back on my little training

Due to bad light we didn't have time for a full two hours, but had to stop after about 90 minutes.

In short: it was great. Very educational; learned a lot about the handling of the car and how it tells you what it's about to do. Highly recommended, and though not exactly cheap I felt I got more than my money's worth out of it. I'll definitely do this a few more times

During the entire training I had a camcorder running; will try to put together a compilation in a little while.

For those interested in the video (and further discussion): you might want to stop over at the 964 forum and add to this thread

Cheers,

JW
