Default Where are you guys buying your brake parts?

Time to do rotors, pads, sensors, etc on my C4S. USA seems prohibitive due to exchange, duty, shipping weight. Any Canadian sources? I'm just looking for OEM quality, not track stuff.

Thanks,

I shop for prices, considering rotor quality and pad that I am looking for... and I usually buy from one of the following:

TDOT Performance - http://www.tdotperformance.ca/perfor...ts/brakes.html
AutoPartsWay - https://www.autopartsway.ca
Canada Brakes - https://www.canadabrakes.com

I always compare the prices to Summit Racing. You would be surprised how much Porsche stuff you can find at Summit. They also pre-calc the duty and all taxes.

All the sites seem to need patience when trying to figure out.

If there is a significantly cheaper alternative to the ones above, please let me know. I have had positive experiences with all listed.

I met these guys at the Auto Show last year. Seem like great guys, and I would like to buy from them, but somehow the site or parts availability makes me choose others.. http://germanparts.ca/

I used Warehouse 33 (996) they give a Rennlist Discount.

Then I shipped to Cross Border Pickups (Buffalo) as shipping in the USA is cheap and they bring it to Mississauga with minimal duties, no brokerage and flat rate shipping. Saved a fortune last time.

Not sure if this is an option for you??

Dealer.

Genuine Porsche parts only for my car! PCA offers 10% discount at most GTA Porsche dealers.

Im with ya on the oem stuff. I'm waiting on some pricing from FD for oem rotors and textar pads. In the past they have been lower than my local dealer even after exchange/duty/shipping.

Try Exoparts in Mississauga. Good pricing and service.

I used germanparts.ca for OEM rotors (they carry pads also). For pads I picked up Hawk HPS from Nextmod in Markham, yes its a tuner shop but they carry a good selection of pads and there 15 min from home.

dealer

Pfaff gave me about 11-12% off (enough to save the taxes)

I thought about buying from the States but after factoring in currency exchange at 1.37, shipping and time and possible duties/taxes, the difference between that and dealer discounted price is not worth the hassle.

If you're buying after market "OEM" parts, then for sure, dealer isn't the way to go. But if you're putting in Porsche Genuine parts in your Porsche, the dealer has some good deals vs the same parts in the USA. Depends on you and how you want to maintain your car.

I get it but, the only difference is the name on the box (in the sachs clutch kit case)

I just called to replace my sway bar ends links. Dealer wants $122/front and $96/Rear.

Called No Limits -

$38 for fronts
$29 for rear

There's some things the dealer prices right but then they gouge you on some other parts.

I don't need brake parts yet, but when I do, I'll use my local independent German autotech. He gives me a good price on parts if you diy. I'll likely get Zimmerman rotors, not sure which pads.
