Yeah, that's my car.

Dov and the boys are just buttoning up a few things for me.

Feel free to ask questions if you are interested.

Is it built from scratch or Renegade Hybrid kit?

I have a 996 Roller but can't import to Canada as it doesn't run.

Okay il ask the elephant in the room question

Why did you use a nice air cooled car to do this that looks in really good shape when you could have used a 996 carcass that would have welcomed the engine.

I wonder if the owner of this car will feel different than Hoovies when he's done...

This video was just posted this week...

I got the RH kit for the car and have used most of it. Some stuff I didn't really care for and have upgraded and/redesigned as I saw fit.

I think a later water-cooled car would be a fair bit easier to convert simply because there is already a water system.

I have a 2.7 Boxster engine that would make it run...

Well, I suppose everyone is entitled to their opinion but the truth of the matter is air-cooled motors....well....are ****.

This chassis was already host to a 650 rwhp 3.3L twin turbo setup which was in need of a major overhaul (simply due to years of high horsepower abuse) and these days, the price to rebuild an air cooled motor is beyond absurd, never mind one that makes any kind of real power.

This car is and was already a mutt and holds no value in the true porsche purists eyes, so protecting its air cooled heritage is way down on the list of things I am worried about.

I've imported my 996 that wasn't running without any problems. No one cared at the border or during the federalization inspection. The car doesn't need to run to pass the federalization inspection. Mine had the engine and transmission out of it when I took it to Canadian Tire for the inspection. Once the federalization inspection is complete (have 45 days to do it) then you can take all the time in the world to get it on the road.

A friend of mine has a 996 C2 with a brand new engine from a corvette. The original engine went kaput and the price of the V8 was less than a rebuild. It is a brand new machine now. I ask him if it feels the difference do to the fact the new engine has a higher center of gravity and he doesn't fell much difference, oh it doesn't have traction control now
