Tahoe Z71 STOLEN
I was at the Wal-Mart plaza on North Queen around 2 today. I was in the store 20 minutes. I came out and the truck was gone. I thought I left it in a different area. Nope, truck gone.
Who would want an 06???
Called the police they took all my info over the phone. I went back to the store, no cameras facing outward.
The worst part was I had my credit card bill, and out of country health coverage.
My insurance company was great (CAA).
I had a rental by 3:30 (Dodge Durango R/T).
Maybe I will find something I like at Barrett-Jackson next week.

You call all the local tow companies?
That vehicle has an factory immobilizer, you have all your keys still?
So strange, you must be stumped how the hell that happened.

That absolutely sucks! We park in the lot often. You just don't here of it occurring that frequently anymore.

Thanks all for the kind words.
Yes I'm stumped.
Maybe it's on a shipping container.
I still have the keys, the factory alarm was set.
The police checked to see if it was taken by a tow company.
Now it's a waiting game with the insurance company.

sorry to hear of this.
where is North Queen?
they probably intercepted your immobiliser when you locked it and copied it.
If you have difficulty getting a good settlement from insurance give me a call, I can help.

Hmm good thinking re Onstar Danny, I think all Tahoe's of that gen came with Onstar didn't they? They can ping it to locate it and even code it not to allow starts etc IIRC.

It happened at the Wal-Mart plaza. It had On Star but no immobilizer. It had a regular key, not the one with the chip.
Thanks, I will contact you if I have any insurance issues.

My buddy's Envoy was stolen from the Cambridge mall last year. Police said there is a rise in the theft of these vehicles. His was never recovered. Chances are good that you's will never be seen again either. Since they stole it from the mall, it wasn't a random act like a joy ride, they were prepared and ready to take it. Probably was an order. In case it shows up before the 30 days are up, wait until you have the money in your account before buying another vehicle.

Race Car
We had my parents' 08 Trailblazer SS here several years ago. My wife had it at work (elementary school) and it was stolen out of the parking lot. We called the police and onstar immediately. Onstar couldn't locate it - they said it was probably driven straight into a shipping container to block the GPS signal. The car was never found, and insurance bought my folks a new car. I was surprised at how little the police cared. They told us if Onstar couldn't find it, they wouldn't bother investigating.
