We have many discussions about the durability of Porsches and every generation has its weaknesses. Still, its refreshing to see a car built for a very hard life, and the owner is intending to put another 250,000 miles on it after engine rebuild....

There was another 996 Turbo in Panorama that hit over 400,000 miles and finally was replaced when the engine subframe was determined to be sagging! At that point it wasn't worth repairing as the story went.
The replaced it with a 991 Turbo.

Oh...this was in response to the story I was talking about. Sounds like there's more to it.

I love high mileage cars that people give up on them. Was a sweet deal for whoever got it for a song and dace. How much could really worth a 996tt with that many miles?

The interesting part is that this is a m96 engine. Though I suspect that easy driven combined with long distance without the freezing cold starts our Canadian engines have to start from is the reason it has lasted so long.
