Roku, Netflix & Hulu.
I play around with Plex and 1channel - but find it finicky.
You kinda need a good friend in IT to help set everything up first!
Primarily though we watch Hulu for the primetime shows.
Teksavvy offer home phone now too. We have them for $10 month.

I have a Andriod box and its great for movies and Tv shows. But if you watch sports you have to cable imho, I have yet to see any streaming service have no lag live sports with no issues. I know theres certain apps for hockey, football and soccer but theres always something on I wanna watch without searching for links to stream it like The Masters, Olympics or The world Cup for example. If I didn't watch sports my cable would have been cut long ago.

Call me old too, but I feel the same way.

I have enough software issues in my life.

Well I'm an old guy and I just went with a drastically reduced Bell Expressvu pkg which includes sports, switched from Bell to internet wireless phone service and added an Android box for streaming movies and TV shows.

Equals BIG monthly savings- to be reallocated to far more important things... like Pcar stuff.

That's nice but what are you actually paying each month?

Nice that I'm an old guy? kind of harsh... but I resemble it.

As for what I pay? It was ~$210/month to Bell for TV and phone service.
It's now ~$100/month for reduced Bell TV pkg and internet home phone.
Android box cost $69 and streaming is NC.

OR put in car-guy logic... ~$1,320/yr extra for Porsche fun stuff.

A year ago when I cut cable the option from Bell or Rogers were not competitive at all. Since then they must have seen the writing on the wall and developed some real customer retention packages that keeps customers from leaving. People are still leaving cable and satellite in massive numbers each month so it's just a matter of time before streaming will be the new popular medium. The cable/satellite companies need to adapt top this or join the VHS club.

If you don't mind the clunky interface Mobdro is a decent IPTV android app. Also available in other formats Windows etc.

Quality is usually 480p but it is free.

Bell is quite costly to get what you want. I'm at almost $800/ month for my cell my fiancées cell, gig internet and the 4K tv package. I cant drop down in the TV package because I lose everything I like to watch.. but its getting a bit much as im only home every other month (fiancée stays in Toronto) but I need to trim it a bit but I hate going Kodi and all of that because the quality just isn't there.

TJ... Like you, I miss watching racing on TV. To watch the 24, Sebring, F1, and others is such a pain in the wallet... I could go on...

I *HATE* that I cannot watch races, or even stream them because of country license restrictions or some BS.

I am finally punting Bell this month for TV and home phone. Going OOMA and Roku for Netflix.... and waiting to find a solution for other stuff.
