O/T Ontario Wholesale Energy?
As we all know, when gas and electricity was de-regulated a few years ago, many people got scammed into buying it from door to door sales people.
I know many of us here have businesses that have office hours and are paying the high peak rate for electricity.
I've been approached by Ontario Wholesale Energy and they tell me they have purchased electricity in bulk and can give me a better rate for 24/7. No contract. Goes on my regular hydro bill.
Anyone heard of them? Too good to be true?
Thanks

Hah, that was one of my summer jobs back in high school, selling gas contracts door to door. I think I lasted 2 days before I realized that it was almost assuredly a scam and quit.

I don't trust any "Re-sellers".
Especially if their 1st question is "can I see your current bill to see if your getting your entitled discounts".
"But he had a clipboard" is no excuse.

It's really just about averaging. If you are a very large consumer of electricity you get a break. That's the case for Ford in Oakville, GM in Oshawa and Honda in Allison. If you contract to a bulk buy then you can get a huge break on consumption. Resellers operate the same way and buy forward a contract which they parcel up to folks such as in the OP. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
