2017 GLS 450 or AUDI Q7
Porsche members are the most knowledgeable so.. what are your thoughts on these two cars? Need 7 seats because I am a massive guy...
My personal opinion:
I like the Merc exterior but the Audi interio. The merc exterior looks awesome but the interior feels outdated but the Audi exterior is boring but interior/tech is awesome.. wish Porsche made a 7 seater

Take a close look at the Volvo XC 90. It's all personal but I think that's an awesome truck. Just bought the wife an X5 but had I waited I would probably pulled the trigger. Great styling.

The XC90 looks like it was sculpted by the gods. The interior is like a dream. The GLS 450 looks like a Chrysler minivan with the chrome package. The Merc touch screen looks like it was velcroed to the dash as an afterthought.

Are you buying or leasing this?
How long are you going to keep it?
If you are buying it? And keeping it after the warranty, I would seriously consider extended warranty.
And when I suggest extended Warranty? I would lean toward Manufacturers extended, vs aftermarket warranty. The good thing about Manufacturer, is that they can say yes to a repair vs Aftermarket has to call in an inspector for approval. That can take days. Some aftermarket policies allow repairs elsewhere? Like an indy? Often extended warranty is most cost effective at time of purchase? Often the will drop the fee or commission. Consider prepaying a service contract. My friends RS5 needed a $2k service, covered with his 2500 up front contract. (not really sure on the numbers, but it did go something like that...)
On which car I like better? I drive from the inside of a car. That is where you will be spending your time .
And if you are in Vaughan? Pfaff seems to have the best set up of any dealer network in Canada.

thx for all the advice so far... there's no diesel for 2017 model (you can guess why lol).. I do like the volvo but that 2.0T engine... I dunno.. I feel like it's under a lot of stress all the time just like me and I am about to instantaneously blow up anytime now.
I am leaning towards the Q7 technik with a dynamic, s line, tow , and drivers assist because it's just a younger looking people.. fits my mode a bit more than the grandpa MERC..
Good point on the extended warranty..

I've got a third kid on the way and so we're also shopping. I love the XC90 but it doesn't have ISOFIX + tethers in the third row. That means putting a child seat back there is a no-no until they can fit in a booster (mine are small). We wanted to put two in the first row, one in the second and leave that one free seat to pop up and down to make access easy.
We're looking at the Q7 now since it can fit more car seats. Its a bit more than the XC90.
Cayenne is out because of the lack of a third row.
Anyone drive an MDX? I've never considered one, but there are a few in my neighbourhood... they look reasonable on paper.

Meh...it has a warranty. Starts to act funky...sell it. In the interim you have a safe, stunning, innovative and efficient vehicle. I'd risk it, well actually I'm getting the discovery but otherwise I'd risk it.

Sounds like you favour the Q7, but the reliability of VW/Audi engines should scare you more, when the Audi mechanics won't by the product it says alot, too many issues. if reliability is what you truly want the MDX is the right move.

My friend is seriously considering the Q7 and says it is amazing and does all the driving for him. I said make sure you get the extended warranty.
