If it were me and buying a 3rd row SUV all over again I'd be buying the XC90.

Here's our 08 that was rear ended in Dubai by a drunk driver doing over 80km/h! These things are tough. The driver clipped us as we were turning left however notice how the SUV arched up by absorbing the force? Impressive engineering.

Have you looked at the torque figures? This won't be a high reving 2.0L like some Honda...

Go drive one.

I think this latest Q7 generation is all-new, vs. Mercedes' face lift of the GL?

Mercedes makes an awesome diesel, though. Of the previous generation, it was the most powerful of its competitors.

Personally, I prefer the GLS over the Q7. Between the Audis and Mercedes owned in the extended family, we all gravitated towards the Mercedes brand. The overall quality seemed to be better.

Truthfully, the difference at this level makes it very difficult to pick "the better" vehicle. Either way you get a very capable vehicle that is well designed and well optioned. I believe it comes down to personal preference between the two... and my preference is the GLS.

Good luck with your decision either way.

Wow great choice Kevin. I'm s huge Audi fan. I think there is even room for the step stool you use to get in 😁

Does the 2017 come with anchors for the booster in the drivers seat ? 😉

- Tow Package
- Sunshades
- S Line
- Drivers Assist
- Bearfort wood inlay
- rear side airbags, yes you have to pay rear airbags.. so dumb

wife wants 1 more.. not sure if my surgeon can help me in time LOL... but figure with my inlaws/parents coming with us on road trips to montreal, quebec and cottaging, it is a better idea just to get a 7 seater. More room and more comfortable than strapping them to the back of the 911 spoiler..

We have a 2011 Audi q7 tdi.

Base model.

Thing eats tires. Probably on 5th set and it has 170K km on it. Think it's a combination of the quattro and nearly 6000lb weight running non truck tires.

21" tires are going to be pricey.

yeah the old model was heavy... new one is about 500 lbs lighter.. the 21" may be actually cheaper because they are not runflats.. while the 19" and 20" are runflats...
