This is one good brother!!
My bro showed up tonight from LA bearing gifts for my 4L rebuild!!
Tons of parts including my X51 headers!!
Also managed to smuggle in 10 packs of cheap cigars and some rice a roni
Off to the mechanic tomorrow to inspect the bored block, heads, crank etc and drop off the parts
I know its weird esp according to my wife but very exciting!!

Rice-A-Roni blocks the smell of the contraband Porsche parts.
The airport highly trained Porsche part drug sniffing dogs get confused?
This method can't be beat, especially if your brother transferred out of san Francisco.

Rice a roni is surprisingly hard to find in my area
Never thought about the dogs! Funny thing is we found a customs form in the suitcase so they had gone through everything. My brother tried to declare a bunch of stuff but they basically waved him through. Nice for me with no duties etc

Nice haul, the last time I drove through with parts for the 993 (~$800) their systems were down and I got a wave through. Since getting Nexus I found I usually get a pass under $250 in Niagara.

We travel to the States often, telling the truth and being 100% honest is always the best way to go... Even if you go over the limits, they often let you in without further issue (within reason). The Nexus pass is great...

Shortly after 9/11 I brought a 928 cylinder head as a carry on when flying home from LA. You should have seen the eyes of the x-ray technician when the suitcase went through the machine.

And as a very generous thank you Rick took me golfing for the weekend and tried to destroy my liver. More beer was consumed by 10 guys last weekend than all of my friends combined in LA would drink in a year; add a team Canada vs Russia hockey game and a couple of Peameal back bacon on a bun sammies and it was a he11 of a weekend.
I'm back in LA and scheduled an appointment at the Betty Ford clinic for this afternoon. I'm looking forward to driving the car but I apparently needed to renew my Canadian passport to fly back in after this week
