So is the problem one that exists from when the car was built or something that develops over time. The latter indicates a weakness, and using seating compound would only be a temporary fix. If the former (that is, a dimension or tolerance problem) then likely gluing it in will be permanent.
From a very small amount of research it isnt clear, at least to me.

915 race repair

I can fix that fast and easy with a sleeve. I've done alot of them. Call Bill Rader Motorsports

well initial post was over 6 months ago, my transmission has long sice been put back in my car.

an you please explain how your fix is fast and easy ?
