Any suggestions to replace PCM Navigation
I'm thinking of replacing my PCM Navigation with a double DIN setup. Any suggestions? Any recommendations on good shops in Toronto?

^ +1 he replaced the horrible OEM stereo in our Boxster S and did a fantastic job. Looks and sounds 100x better. Very happy customer. He also knows the brand very, very well.

Din refers to the radio's chassis size.
Single cd players or cassettes for that matter of say 911's back in the day occupied a single din space in the dash.
A typical 996
These days, anything with an lcd like your stock PCM in 997's and up are double din.
A typical 996 radio, which is below the heater controls/display, is a single din radio.

I guess I was not overly clear in my thread. I meant does anyone have suggested setups without going crazy on the budget?

You can do a new touch screen with bulit in nav & bluetooth in dash for just over a grand.
You'll need adapters and interfaces to connect to the existing speakers and amp.
Oh and if yo have Sports Chrono, say goodbye to that.
Short or that, it's pulling everything and starting from new.

I replaced my stock unit with an Alpine double din. I was able to add bluetooth phone, Sirius radio and a backup camera which I did not have with the stock PCM
I really like the look and the added functionality but its not cheap

Your setup looks nice. Were you able to use the speakers, amps or was it a complete "tear out and replace" job? Can you PM with the cost of your setup. Thx
