Behind schedule and over budget. Let's hope it performs as well as they hope and it sells.

Could turn out to be a dead duck though, sold off cheap to Canadian carriers who don't really want it either.

A lot of jobs in many industries are relying on this to do well, fingers crossed.

Let's hope they're assembled better than their regional jets ... which were a real pain in the *** to do maintenance and inspections on ...

Cheers

The C-series carries so much weight for the Montreal economy its scary. There are 10 collateral jobs for every bombardier employee. If the C-series flops, a big portion of the company will suffer. I don't think any other single product has as much local impact as this aircraft.

I love the landing gear "drop" or "thud" on CRJs! What's worse Phil a CRJ or an Embraer that's made from pre-corroded aluminum?

Boeing is still bleeding cash from the 787 even though airlines love it and it exceeds performance stats. I feel that if they made the C-Series 6 abreast you would have seen more orders... LX and LH are the only "Legacy" carriers to have ordered it, well maybe KL. Many felt the C-Series would be a shoe in at DL for the Maddogs but DL ended up getting a bunch of preowned 717s for the time being.

Porters C-Series plans rest on if YTZ can be expanded. Air Canada C Series order? Hmm never say never, I thought they would have refleeted with 320neo but went with 737MAX. Then again the relationship with BBD and AC is a frosty one even though they are across the street from each other. WJ? They are looking for widebodies and have a 737MAX order.

What many forget is that the CS is a NEW aircraft, the 737 and A320 aren't. The latter two are simply upgrades of an existing aircraft that has been re engineered or in the case of the 737 several times over.

.an even more important factor that could be decisive is that the aircraft appears to be better than advertised. Bombardier came to Paris claiming the C Series will exceed performance guarantees by a significant margin. Based on the flight test campaign so far, both the CS100 and CS300 have about 10% more range than originally targeted, better payload and airfield performance and lower fuel burn.

Cromer says the CS100 and CS300 are now coming in at a maximum range of 3,300 nm, around 350 nm more than originally planned. A combination of factors are in play, according to Rob Dewar, vice president of C Series. The engine is burning 1% less fuel than predicted, and there is less drag in cruise. Bombardier is therefore able to raise the maximum takeoff weight and zero fuel weight by 5,000 lb. for both the CS100 and CS300. "Those guarantees will be improved," Dewar says. Both models are meeting noise performance targets.
Impressive if it's true.

Glass cockpits are cool but I'd still like an analog 6-pack. Or, at least an ASI, ALT and Atitude. 'Cause you never know.

Pretty plane regardless.

Greg,

The RJ's were the worst for inspections ... where you needed a boroscope to do simple inspections and as far as the Embraers go ,the interiors are more user friendly but the fuselage skins are made of recycled beer cans , especially the chem milled areas.
Air Canada is trading in our Embraer E90's for new generation Boeing 737's
Better engineering support, helps to be on the same continent ... that goes for Boeing ... won't comment on the Bombardair birds ...

Cheers

I will say glass is nice when you loose an instrument, just dim it down and is gone from your scan, with steam gauges you have to dig up the post-it notes
