Default Singer Targa

Just read that the new Singer Targa is going to a Montreal owner after Goodwood.

No apparently the 4.0 is a new option. Great article on the Singer's in the July issue of Road & Track.

Nope. Present optional engine choices are:
3.6 (270hp)
3.8 (350hp)
4.0 (390hp).

I'd be all over a Singer, if only he'd consent to making me a Cabrio...and if I had US$390,000 burning a hole in my pocket.

I know I'm in a minority here. I saw the Toronto Singer at a Saturn drive meet last week. I know everything is bespoke and hand made but I was totally underwhelmed. For that kind of money there are lots of other cars I would take.....by a large margin. A Carrera GT or new GT3RS are just 2 examples. I appreciate what it is but I'll pass. Why do I think I am going to get flamed for this? On the other hand it would be a nice addition for the Yorkville car show.

^ I share the same opinion Bacura. I do appreciate the attention to detail and the incredible quality of some of the components that go into the Singer but for that money I could start a pretty decent collection of other models and marques.

I find it funny that in previous interviews the guy who owns/runs Singer says he couldn't afford the cars he produces... lol I wonder how much profit is in each car at those prices they are going for? I bet he could afford one now!

Here's a point raised by others but it's worth repeating here:

We're all rationalizing buyer a Singer from the perspective of people that are choosing the Singer over other cars. The demographic who buys a Singer - they already have a collection of the other cars, the GT3RS etc. This is just another addition to their collection. It's a different mindset with the ultra high net worth clientele.
