Mosport Grand Prix circuit in 991 GT3

That's great you took the car out to the track and great you had fun! Just curious tho... why didn't you push more or use more revs?
#4
I need more experience before I am going to push much harder than that.

Cool... now that I think about it... that video is probably deceiving when you are watching in regards to overall pace. The car is so capable that it probably just feels from the video that you are not going that fast... when in reality you are.
Good example of perception problems is Walter Rohrl driving the GT3 RS... the car is going plenty fast... but from inside it looks like he's sleeping... lol

My comments were based on lap times from the video, not from looks. Video's never look fast. Based of the video the avg lap was 1:43.7. With a fastest lap of 1:42.
What was the top speed you were seeing on the back straight?
It would be great to see video with more details or at least speed overlapped.

That said, there's absolutely nothing wrong with realizing your own limitations are well below that of your car's, and driving to that - that's what keeps you out of the walls.

In car cams always look slower but 1:39 is quick! ...not that it was timed and displayed during the event... That looks and sounds great!
No one ends up having a great day trying to go faster on the GP track, it has one hell of a bite.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy that beauty!!!

For someone in the intermediate group I don't think you're "Sunday Driving" it too badly. Keep working on your smoothness and precision and the speed will come.
I'll congratulate you for taking the car on track at all. I always feel sad when I read for sale ads for GT3s that say things like "never tracked." Yesterday I read an ad for one that said "never redlined." Assuming those statements are true, they're tragic.
I will say you could definitely pick up a lot more speed going down turn 4. The car compresses there and really sticks to the tarmac. Also in 2 the same applies...you've got tons of room to increase your speed. Of course on the back straight you should be accelerating for much longer than you are. Like I said though, right now just keep working on your technique!

good line, speed will come gradually.
I would track out more in corner 2 so you could accelerate sooner
brake later and harder on back straight, you got tons of brake
track out more in last corner.
I run 1:35 with my boxster(3060lbs & 260hp) so you have lot on the table, especially with this new gt3
check my lap num 3(starts at 13:00min) during the race school fun race, its a 1:36 lap, it will give you an idea

Here's my old 9964S with at least 155 less hp, heavier, stock suspension, manual and fairly stock and definately not a even close to a GT3. I could easily run 1:40's all day long, the best lap here is the 2nd lap doing 1:38, in which I did hestate and lift off a bit for the cup car not sure why. Could probably run 37 maybe better on the new pavement.
1:39 is not quick, I'd be personally embarassed not to run 1:34 or lower in that kind of car and that would still be sunday driving and taking it easy. That car is capable of being in the mid to high 20's

Paseb - 1:35 is kicking *** in a Boxster, that with slicks? Even so that is freaking fast regardless, you must have to be carrying 180 kph through the corners.

1:35 is with some less HC ones and a cleaner lap.
goal for my next race at mosport is 1:34 range
