New 996 turbo owner
Hi everyone,
I've been lurking the forums for a little while, but decided to post this, as I just bought a blue 2003 996 turbo with x50, sports seats and a few other options.
As anyone that has been looking at the cars can attest, there are many options, but few quality options at a good price. The one in east Toronto with a rear end collision and no documentation. The decent looking one that was going for 62k. The one on kijiji that was basically split in half and welded back together. I searched for months. When this one came up, I jumped on it. The main issue? It was in Vancouver and I am in Toronto.
So I got a PPI done. Asked a million questions, and put a deposit down less than 48 hours after the add went up. Flew over to Vancouver to complete the transaction, and luckily, everything was as per the guy's word and the PPI.
I shipped it over here with Hanson's forwarding. They put less than one KM on the car, and it cost a little over $1k. The key is that they ship via train. It gets loaded once. Offloaded once. If you ship by truck, chances are it will be shuffled 3 or 4 times.
Anyways, I received the car last Monday, and it's purring nicely! I'm still in the honeymoon phase, and can't wait to come to a few track days this year. A few pics below:

It's a Canadian car, and I'm the third owner. Roughly 80k on it. For both of these things, I consider them like Goldilocks's porridge; just right!
