Default Looking for 2 996 or Early Boxter Doors

Need 2 doors so that I don't have to cut up mine.

I put a cage in the car and the door bars go way out so I need to cut up the inside skin of the doors. Would rather keep my doors intact for future use, just in case.

I need the skin + hinges + exterior handles + latch. Ideally in Arctic or some kind of Silver.

996 and Boxster are the same.

I've talked to Nine Apart and am waiting for Frank to get back to me.

Ummm... once a car gets a cage, it doesn't go back. There is no: "Just in case." Looks like you are also in for windows that don't go down! ;-)

You are committed once you put that cage in... no going back... sorry.

Get out the sawzall start cutting... buy doors when you decide to go back. It will be cheaper then!

As per the online inventory, this place has a few boxster if I remember correctly. I just purchased some parts from there last week (Non-Porsche related) and they were quick and legit.

Francois,

Is that a bolt in cage ?
If so,it's a good idea to save your original doors ...

Cheers

Wait, I dont get it, why can a bolt-in-cage not be removed from the car later? I mean, I understand car will have visible markings/damage to the carper, etc.., but those can be easily fixed, no?

Most bolt in cages are removeable,i installed a top quality six point OG Racing cage in my 911 when i was doing DE's and now that i race a 944 the cage will be coming out of the 911 and the interior will be going back to stock trim.
I am so happy that i kept the original sport leather seats,as i received many offers for them ...
Everything is reversible to some point and i think that's what Francois will be doing?

Cheers
Phil

Well at least I'd like to have the option, should I ever decide to do so.

Yes, a bolt-in is reversible, but I think that what PPo meant was that once you go full strip, it's hard to go back, philosophically, you know.

So far I haven't cut or broken anything. Only permanent damage is 12 bolt holes in the floor for the cage's feet. But man do I have a big pile of stuff.

Exactly!

You will love it. You will have so much fun, that the next step is that you will be driving back from the track thinking: "Should I take out the bolt-in cage and get a custom full cage? There are a few things I would like different, and the custom cage would be awesome. I could take out the bolt-in cage, put the car back to stock(ish), sell this car, and buy a track car... but it won't be MY car... the car I lived with, and the car that lived with me."

Then in a few years, you will be staring at your stock doors thinking: "Why did I keep these? Well, if I crash at least I have a spare set of doors..."

I will happily buy you a drink the day you decide to get a weld-in custom cage... It will happen in less then 2 years...

Ppo
