Warranty Work on Imported US Cars
I originally asked my question on the back end of the Importing Cars thread, but thought it best to start a new thread.
Has anyone had any issues getting Canadian dealers to do warranty work on cars purchased in the US? Just about to pull the trigger on a US car, but want to be sure the warranty will be fine here.
Thx.

I had 2 issues with my 997 C2S
+ spoiler squeak
+ dead cell in my car battery
Both covered under warranty no problem.
I also had my PCM firmware updated for free under warranty.
This was on the cars original 4 year warranty. CPO would have to be re-certified in Canada.

Thx for the responses. I have now confirmed with both Oakville Porsche and DFC that US cars are no problem for warranty purposes in Canada. "Porsche warranties are global" as they put it.

Just make sure the transaction is between you and the US dealer. If a broker or local dealer purchases the car for you [lets say you have a trade-in] then CPO will no longer be valid.

That's the key - CPO will be voided, not factory warranty. They're 2 very different things. The warranty will still be honoured, no matter how many hands it passes through. This is different to how things were in the past with PCNA/Porsche Canada.
