997.2 - Carbon Buildup?
Started the car yesterday and noticed this dripping from the mufflers on both sides.
Wonder if it is a reason for concern. Greatly appreciated if anyone can chime in.

Looks like condensation in the exhaust system ( water), washing out accumualted soot.Would assume car had not been driven much the previous trip ( especially with the cooler temps outside). Ethanol fuels burn "dirty" compared to non-ethanol blends.
I would see no cause for concern. A good drive getting engine up to operating temps, then a few good rips will get rid of the moisture and restore a nicer colour to the pipes.

Could be partly the gas you use unless you tell us you never use anything but Shell 91 but I also suspect your running a tad rich. I had this happening recently up until new plugs and coils and a new MAF. (I was running rich) Then.. no more carbon dripping.
I wouldn't define it as 'normal', I would say it is something that is seen on Porsche's the odd time as not everyone sees this. You mostly see it on start up from a cold engine that's been sitting for more then a day or two in colder weather (sub 10C) The carbon is washed out in the first minute or two and once it warms up and goes open loop it should stop. I'd be worried if it happened on start up's when the engine is already warm. When were your plugs last changed?

Only Shell 91 has been used since it was purchased in March.
It did sit for 2 weeks prior to this happening, however it sat for longer than 2 weeks in the summer and nothing dripped.
It is an 09, plugs and coils were due this year but the dealer recommended waiting until spring.
