New guy looking to buy 911
Hello guys, I'm looking to buy 2000 to 2003 911 for 30k. I looked at some on auto trader.ca around 100k mileage so was wondering what I should watch out for and what services should be done at that point.
Thanks,
Aspec

Welcome!
Maybe I ask why you have limited your search to 2000-2003 cars?(ie. if looking for a 996, why not '99 or '04??)
Cheers,

It's a 2001 with GT3 Aero kit, tiptronic, it has 182K and all service is up to date. I would be looking for around $26,000 obo

Its true, there is a LOT of info out there to answer your question. Just get comfortable, type "996 common issues/problems" in the search above and start reading. Prepare for some nightmare stories....
However, after I have done the above, after endless research, I still ended up buying an 03 Boxster S, with the same design M96 motor (with "notorious" catastrophic IMS failures) as found in almost all 996s and 997.1s
The truth is that a properly maintained (documented) M96 motor, is pretty reliable, especially with LN Engineering (or similar) IMS update.
As Rob hinted at, there are some other model year changes that affected later cars (like glove box and cup holders in '03 and later I believe). You need to decide what model/model year(s) you are after. I dont know much about 996s, but research should be your best friend right now. And one last thing, there is a rule of thumb when it comes to buying used Porsches: Buy the newest car within your budget. But every rule has exceptions.
