ANOTHER FLAT SPOTTING PREVENTION IDEA..
Just picked up 3, 4-tile packages of Multy Easy/Tile 2 foot square indoor foam tiles at C Tire to park the car on for the winter. This will put each tire on a fairly dense 2 foot by 2 foot 3-tile pile, 1 1/4 inches thick. They should be re-usable. Along with pumping the tires up to 45 lbs, this should be a little better that the stack of carpet or foam I've used in past years. Let me know what you think...

i have always used the blue insulation cladding. It is very dense and does a great job not flat spotting... and best ofall I find it blowing around construction sites for free,,, the ultimate recycler

I thought you wanted to know how to flat spot a couple of tires. I can do that without hardly trying, four takes a little more work and makes it a bit harder to see for awhile.

I don't do anything at all, nothing.
They get a little lumpy for the first bit but..? no problem after they get heated up.
I don't store for more than as long as salt is down. Could be that I move the car around when adding all the fun stuff I 'need'

Just took mine out after sitting for 3 weeks and the Bridgestones got a little flat spotted. 5 min on the highway and they went back to normal. Had a carthat sat in the same spot for over 2 years. After a good heat cycle, the flat spots were gone.

I've stored sports cars all winter every year since 1997 in unheated garages. The cars have had Bridgestone S-02's, Yokahama AVS Sports's and Toyo T1R's. I inflate the tires to the max pressure indicated on the sidewall and I have never once felt a flat spot.

I've found that the flat spots tend to vanish with use as well but I just don't think it can be good for the tires and it's cheap and easy to avoid. I prefer not to pump up the tires because I sneak out for a run occasionally in the winter when it's dry. High pressure and cold temps make these tires very slippery.

I used 3 packages @ about $9/package on sale for half price Glenn. Each package has 4 tiles. I did not pump up the tires so I can sneak out for a run down the Bayview Extension on them dry, warm winter days. Regarding ride height - my driveway may not allow it but I'd love it if you or Danny would come over in the spring and see if you can make it into my garage without scraping.....beer is on me.

someone here says that this will damage the suspension, leaving it unweighted for months.
Ron, I would be happy to come by and look and if looks good try your drive ( I have the front protection bar anyways which will protect me).
Ron, I used the same mats and will also raise the tire pressure.
