Phil, I reckon we've got the Goldilocks Porsche in the 996T, along with those driving the 997T. Enough power and traction to see off almost anything in the real world (the likes of Macca's and MJ's beasts excepted) and in those pre-VW years Porsche still trusted their drivers with proper handbrakes. I expect they'll be taking out the steering wheel next.

For an awful moment there I thought he was having it castrated...

The Cayenne wasn't even remotely troubled by them, but then according to the new Ford ad we cayenne owners aren't in the real world.
Reminds me of Holden's ads back in the day, with a Monaro taking the chequered flag in front of a 996 Turbo.

Not likely. I'll just dangle this bit of lovelyness out there for you to think about Doug. Let's just say that I'm warming you up to be a regular customer for my old Porsches...

On the good cause note- reminder of Macca & Jo's efforts in Vanuatu- up to nearly $27,000USD

My timing was impeccable - was about to post some update pictures while the internet was quicker.

Thanks Luke & thanks again for your recent donation mate. Apart from helping screw down a corrugated tin roof on a shed today I was out starting the building process on two houses. Tomorrow we order for delivery the cement, sand, aggregate, steel and mesh to cage and pour the footings for a 5.2m x 9m and 5m x 6m house. Repairs will be made to other houses using the pine timber and roofing iron we have ordered whilst the cement is curing on the building pads.

We will be sure to update fundraiser site as things progress over the next 3-4 weeks. Without the generous donations of those on this board (there are many) and plenty others this would not be possible...

P.S. Im wearing my RSG shirt today (fat boy XL size) LOL!.

P.P.S. The new Boxster spyder looks a bit of alright. At 80+kg lighter than a GT4 and with the same 3.8 engine gelded by 15bhp and its 991S brakes Im sure it will be giving the new GT Cayman a hard run on back roads....

Great to see the rubber hitting the road/ the stringlines hitting the foundations. And, more importantly, the excitement back in their faces. Great work Macca.

I've seen your green beast before - sounds really cool.

What mod's have you done to the engine - is it just an exhaust or internals too?
Was pretty loud before, just exhaust system and a full intake recondition. When it comes to engine reconditioning will do something special.
Few photos on my Instagram if you sift through cat photos and the likes ( ESONEFOUR )

Good to hear your news Macca. If this Spider has a quick fire manual roof mechanism then it would tick all my Wishlist boxes.

So was the Targa announcement of helmets for Targa Tour an April Fools joke?

Certainly looks that way - very tasty. This could be "The One" Doug!

^^^^ Yes that's my ex-Boxster alright. I let Razzo know. It has taken them an age to get to "dispose" of it. It would cost more than it is worth to get road worthy again unfortunately.

“The decision to return to air-cooling has not been taken lightly,” explained Porsche Exclusive’s Marcus Rückdatierung. “However, after years of calls from our loyal customers, we feel that this April is the time to reintroduce a key part of Porsche’s heritage back into the current 911 line up.”

They went to a bit of effort. Rückdatierung = Backdating in German.
