Banks peninsula..... Now there's a story. Went there last winter with a spare half day in a rental. Thought I might head back towards Lyttleton over the ridge. Got up to the snow line on the gravel road, kept going, traction lost. Couldn't go forward, couldn't turn so inched back ever so gently whilst keeping an eye on the drops each side. Managed a twenty point turn in an area that was sheltered from the ice and headed back to take the normal road out of town.....ridge road to the main drag. google earthed it later and was only about fifty meters from the ridge down the other side. Shat myself a bit that day.

Yep, she's looking sharp alright. Here's something to help you while away the time before the reunion. Recommended by Hampton Downs:

Lots more accomplished getting another customer's 64 back on the road, chassis measured and given the all ok by the certifier.
Seam sealed repairs on the tub and applied a coat of Wurth stone guard, battery tray sealed and ready for a coat of colour tomorrow.
New strut and upright arrives tomorrow which will sort out the suspension damage, lucky a new tie rod had been ordered as that's a little bent as well.

Next will be an alignment to keep the certifier happy and then on to vinning.
Glass out re spray planned this winter.

For the GICI auction (via Turners) we got 2.5K. I also got another 1k from the organizer of a charity auction in Napier as she wanted a ride and I donated her charity a trip in the car as well. In that auction a 92 year old lady paid 3.5k for a 20min trip.

I think I may be driving the Enzo or F40/F50 in the AKL event so say hi if you attend. It's a great cause so bid big.

Looking good Dave. I suppose Razzo doesn't have too much to do, given you are doing the interior?

When do you get it home?

Dave Mac's CS being de-caged in the background??

Dave - have you fleared the rear guards to take a 205 or 7" rim or is it totally stock?

Yeah, I guess it's just bolting stuff on now, so the end must be near.
Not sure who's is the IB in the background.
The guard edges were all rolled so that we can fit 7's all round hopefully. The flare is standard I believe. Put in long wheel bolts so that spacing is possible to get it just right. I will run with the deep 6 Fuchs for the road and a set of those minilites, cookies or 7" Fuchs for stickies on track

Stickies on the track? Serious intent there Dave. Good to see albeit I hope Herman's engine management system will hold you back from bouncing him too easily at HD. Maybe Shannon with the 985kg SC will keep you honest?

Now that's adventure. Ultimately I'd like a rally setup 911 when I've done all the sealed roads and turn to gravel where real exploring starts. Maybe a highly modified C4 or something similar that is not a landie.

You would have to give up your OCD cleaning Doug. I almost resorted to taking the wheels off the R to clean them fully after the gravel section on the P Club run.
