Default Harness / Seatbelt Ding / Airbag light

I'm putting in harnesses in my 987.2 and need to take care of the airbag light and seatbelt ding. What are folks doing to trick the car into thinking everything is okay? Thank you!

It can be coded to remove the seat belt warning and airbag light. I am pretty sure the durametric Pro will do it. For sure our Piwis and Autologic will also do it.

Cheers

Are you removing the seatbelts entirely? I know some people just buy a seat belt slug and plug it into the seat belt receptacle to trick the system, no muss no fuss.

Years ago I found a website that sold aluminum seat belt insert blanks that you place into the seat belt receptacle. It has the same shape as the standard belt insert but a blunt rear end. It tricked my 996 belts into thinking the seat belts were in uses while I used my harnesses. I can't seem to find the website at this time though.

I initially used seat belt blanks on my 987.2 but then bought a durametric and coded them off. Much better.

i did it with a durametric pro in the airbag modules. The seat belt, I believe I kept unplugged under the seat.

I wanted to keep the seat belts in just to use the plug I bought off eBay but didn't see an option to keep them. Seemed like an easy way to clear that. If I need to strip the entire electrical harness off the seats and find a place for it that might be a safety issue.

I'm using Brey Krause brackets. Driver will be fixed and the passenger is the set up with the stock sliders.

I have the enthusiast edition. I'll call them on Monday to upgrade to the pro. Can you remember the menu options you needed to code both the seat belts and airbag lights out?

REALLY Appreciate the help here. I'm a long time BMW guy coming to Porsche and its like starting from square one all over again...

I follow these 2 articles on Planet-9 every time. I keep them bookmarked on my garage computer. He first article is basic durametric stuff and the second one is specific to airbags and seatbelts. Enjoy.
