New Goodyear Trailer Tire
Just a head's up.
The new Goodyear trailer tire, 'Endurance' destined to replace the Goodyear Marathon is the only radial special trailer tire made in the U.S.A., in Akron, Ohio.

Usually would have seen about this already but we had to blow Sebring off so season starting later than normal.
Posted because I know a lot of racers up north are just prepping cars/trailers because of late year snows, etc.
Take care,

Hey...., winter fever got you down and you're real eager through the gates of first track day, you could even lap these with the car still on tow...
Really though......I used the Marathon religiously for years and years.....kept a ProMeter as spare. In 8-10 years of traveling from Baton Rouge to Sebring, Hallet, Cota, TWS, Eagles Canyon and too numerous to count trips to NOLA and No Problem, I had one....., 1 single Goodyear Marathon that failed (and it was due).
Look up the road 20 miles on my tablet......first GY dealer I saw, rang 'em up and they had the tire in stock. Spare was already on so I carried in the wheel and was back en route to Sebring with a delay of all maybe 10-15 minutes.
I maintain a 120 vehicle fleet plus rolling equipment.
I kept noticing the tires I was buying are all made in China so I requested a list of tires made in the U.S.A. from my dealer.
The Marathon was made in China but the Endurance is made in America.
We now have a choice.

Yes, great news.
And you'll notice, 1) the Marathon selection is slim pickins and 2) the new American made Endurance, a better tire by specification, is pretty much the same price a the tire it's replacing.
So much for subbing American jobs out because price would be higher to manufacture in America.
Been a while since posting here so didn't know if it's cool or not but somebody has to say it.
MAGA......!
I purchased 4 of them today.

Goodyear rolled these out a while back, I posted a heads up about it when they first announced:

I specced a set for my new trailer. I've done some short haul, fully loaded stints and they work a treat. I'm sure they will outperform and outlast the chinese made Marathons they replace in the Goodyear lineup.

Hi Peeps. any up dated report on these tires? I have also had absolutely terrible experience with chinese made tires... pulling trigger on a new set this week. Damon at TR says he has all good reports so far.
Thank you

Last Fall I put 4 replacement Goodyear Marathons on my 1-car hauler. I had the original Marathons on for 5 years with zero problems and replaced them because they were due.
Towing yesterday I had my first EVER trailer tire blowout. I put the spare on which is a 5 year old Marathon.
My question is should I replace the blown tire with another Marathon or should I replace it with an Endurance and have mixed tires? I am thinking I should replace the spare as well (the one that's now mounted on the trailer).
Any thoughts???

What is that saying, if there is a doubt, there is no doubt. We are coming up to some holidays and Discount Tire typically runs by 3 and get 1 free. Get 4 of the Endurances for the cost of 3 and use the best Marathon as a spare. If you have the wheels, keep all the Marathons as spares.

Burning Brakes
I just put a new set of Maxxis M8008s on my trailer. I thought about doing the Goodyear Endurance on there, but the Maxxis lasted me 7 yrs. (well 7, come late July). The old Maxxis were Load Range C, replaced them with Load Ds. I figured 7 yrs was pretty darn good and they were $80 less then the Goodyear, so why change. I probably need to go back and replace my spare's Load C with a D.
