Hagerty now offering Trackday Insurance
Saw this in my email today: Test your driving skills with HPDE/Track Day protection from Hagerty
IIRC, they didn't offer this two years ago when I got my STP coverage.

Interesting
Same insurance company as the Lockton program used by many with success.
Looks like they only offer a per event coverage. There's a market for that but I prefer insuring all of my events (8-10/year).
I ran a quick quote and the total for 10 events would be quite a bit more than I am paying now with Open Track.
Price might vary based on the individual track. For convenience I assumed all 10 were at Watkins Glen, which may be higher than the average.
Having said all of that - really great to see a quality provider added to the short list of track day insurers.
Thanks for posting

Steve, who is Lockton's carrier now?

I keep begging State Farm to get in on this. They have an easy money opportunity to undercut all these guys a little. My agent told me to zip my lips or I could be dropped just for mentioning that I track my cars (even though we all know they are not covered).

Rick- I think Mt Hawley - still un-admitted
Ron - thanks for the plug ..........do I see new livery?????
Accel- lol I wish you were right about easy money . Keep this in mind 75% of our covered losses are totals. Trust me its not easy to make money on DE insurance. Accident rates have gone way up . Lots of reasons but 1 reason velocity of the cars on track today . Most hits aren't single impact . There is usually a second that does just as much damage

Thank you, Steve
Sorry to hear about the losses. Not just for the cars but for the price and availability of the insurance.
My completely non-actuarial observation is that, at least for PCA events I don't sense any greater frequency. Is it primarily severity (noting your totaled comment)?

Accel- It's not an easy business. I use to only refer REALLY qualified drivers for our on track coverage when it was still available with regular policy. Steve is best bet now and I'm sure he is selective on who he offers coverage to.
