I dont know if it was a race, may have been the race group, but it was the end of a session. That's a good point. usually on DE days, your right i dont think they have things on the track that can freak out the newbee's. But, generally, its understood (and talked about in the driver meetings) that checker means , session is over and to back down your speed and be cautious, even though passing is still allowed.
