Race group colors
In the club races, is there some methodology to labeling race groups by color? For example, at Sebring GTC3 was in Blue. At other times, it's been in Black or Red.
Curious about results and guessing at groups to locate a class is a guess.

It depends on how many cars sign up in each class. They try to spread them out over the run groups to keep each run group size roughly equal and with similar speed cars. Not always possible.

I believe that at one time PCA national tried to standardize a system for all regions whether it be colors or numbers. The problem was that each region thought their system was best and wouldn't change.
Hope that makes sense.

HPDE Colors too
For the same reason US isn't using the metric systems ... not invented here (region). Region runs the event, coves the costs for those item and a lot more.
Oh and then there is the limitations for pre printed color dots and matching wristband colors to pick from without doing custom colors ... and colors already taken up by HPDE event which has "somewhat" more standard colors already used. The number of HPDE run groups running in conjunction with Club Race varies by event and they already have first dibs on many of the primary colors (Green, White, Blue, Yellow, Red, Black).
And in the HPDE world, no standard tech form, letters or colors for run groups, location / quantity and who provides the car numbers ...
Though i think we can all agree, if they would just standardize on "our" model we would all be happy, but not on "their" model.

Sometimes when I get a wacky colored wristband at a race I find myself feeling like Mr. Pink from Reservoir Dogs.
Connecticut Valley Region has the following for HPDE:
Green - instructed - pretty much universally for most HPDE events to denote someone new to the track
Yellow - still instructed but getting close to solo
Orange - still new but now allowed to solo / occasionally an instructor will jump in the car
White - solo advanced beginner
Black - solo advanced
Red - instructor
Green/Yellow/ Orange are considered beginner
White/Back/Red are consider advanced
