It passed pre-tech, it passed post-tech. and since it was a SPECIFIC point of discussion leading up to the race, it was SPECIFICALLY checked by IMSA tech. So if they passed it, then how could they later say it was illegal?

Getting through tech without an illegal part being found does not means all the parts on the car are legal. All it means is that tech did not find anything illegal. It also doesn't mean you can't get penalized later when the illegal part is discovered.
