Thanks guys! Felt lucky just to be part of the event!

It's motorsports steel synchros, etc. But it's not so much the gearbox as it is the combination of closely spaced gears and very light clutch/flywheel/engine rotating assembly. So the motor drops the ~1500 rpms between gears just about as fast as you can get it in the next gear.

Yup. I have the same setup in my RSR clone and it makes shifting with an H-pattern as close as possible to a sequential. It's all about making the spinning stuff as light as possible. Fun
Good job Clay as usual. Did you try 4th in T4 and T6? I'd have like to have seen comparable data for those 2 turns which are really the crux of turning fast laps at Laguna.

Didn't try them in 4th. The gears in my car are longer than normal cup and it revs a good bit higher. The RSR motor doesn't like to be at low RPM either - so 3rd felt very appropriate. I think it would've been bogged down in 4th.

Thanks. 29 would be awesome. There might be one there. Definitely a 30.x with more practice. Track may have been a little slow on this particular weekend. For reference, Jorg Bergmeister turned a best lap of 30.9 in an 05 RSR that weekend, and Sofronas had a best of 31.2 in an 04 RSR, Kevin Roush at 31.7 in an 00 GT3R, Wolf Henzler in a 2012 RSR ad 1:27! The 04/05 RSRs were sequentials, better aero (flat bottom) and wider front track.

You would just have to carry more speed into those turns. Easy-peasy....
